The dynamic violin and piano duo ‘Dyad’ unites David Murray and Iona Brown, two of the north-east’s top performers. As Heads of Studies at Newcastle University, they have collaborated on many chamber music projects.
Iona Brown is principal first violin at Royal Northern Sinfonia, where she has featured as soloist, leader and musician over many years. She performs regularly with the Da Vinci String Quartet and has performed alongside many eminent musicians most notably Bruno Pasquier, Jean-Bernard Pommier, and Maurice Bourgue.
David Murray has been recognised as one of the north-east’s most acclaimed accompanists and is constantly in demand as soloist, accompanist and chamber musician partner. He has been a regular accompanist for David Haslam, Sir Thomas Allen, Ian Partridge, Bradley Creswick and performs recitals around the world with Alison Pearce.
