Maternal & Neonatal Health

Maternal & Neonatal Health

The Maternal and Neonatal Health project provides training in life-saving midwifery skills to Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) and maternal and neonatal training to Community Health Workers (CHWs) in remote villages in western Myanmar. This project supports their work to radically reverse the high levels of maternal and under-5 morbidity and mortality rates that devastate families across the region.

Training centre rebuilding project

Training centre rebuilding project

On 30th May 2017, Cyclone Mora reached Bangladesh before moving northwards through western Myanmar. The cyclone destroyed seven of Health & Hope Myanmar's training centre, including the main training hall, kitchen and dining area, and four dormitory buildings. We started constructing the new Training Centre in January 2018. Despite being incomplete, the Training Centre has already seen a year's worth of usem, however we need some further financial support to finish the project.

Hope Clinic

Hope Clinic

Based in Lailenpi, Hope Clinic was constructed in 2016, and provides services to just under 2,000 patients in and around Lailenpi each year. The clinic is also a base for a mobile medical team who conduct clinics in remote rural villages throughout the year.
